Sweatshirt Casual

One of my favorite colors to wear is grey. And its only made better when its a grey sweatshirt. I wore this to study in a few days ago. I wanted to be comfortable but not to look sloppy. Mission accomplished, at least I think so. I certainly was comfortable and the converse gave the look a playful feel. I found this pair of kids converse at the Goodwill. I had been lusting after a white high top pair and was holding out until I could visit an outlet store. But then I found these and they were just missing a pair of laces. Which was a cheap and easy fix. I just hate how white the laces are, I can't wait to get them dirty and break them in.

Red Hots

I feel in love with these skinny jeans after I saw them here and I haven't been able to get them out of my head since. I knew they were from Zara and so I began to scour the city looking for them. After many weeks of hunting I luckily came across them just when I had given up hope! I was meant to have them I think.
It was so sunny when I wore these and that made the red even brighter! Can't wait to wear them all winter long to brighten up any dreary day. I paired these babies with an H & M sweater and a trench. But that is just one option and I plan on wearing them with many other things. They are actually more versatile than you would think. More looks to come for sure.

In The Faux

I am totally digging the faux trends going on right now. I picked up this faux fur vest and faux leather pants at Forever 21. Both were such a good deal at under $30. I plan on wearing this vest all season long. I paired it with this amazing forrest green silk shirt that I found at the Goodwill. The boots were also a thrift find at only $4. The bag is a new fav of mine because its so big and it has two top handles & a cross body strap for many carrying options, perfect for shopping with!
It was super sunny this last weekend and I didn't even need a coat! Great weather for mid November.

Newsboy Cap

The star of this outfit really was this newsboy cap. I have had this thing since high school (and I am not going to say how long ago that was!!). I love hats but am sometimes not brave enough to wear them in public. I don't really know why but I feel that people always look at me weird when I wear hats, probably just my hat insecurity complex. However, when faced with a bad hair day recently I shoved my fears aside and put the hat on my head and went out to face the world. After that it really made me want one of those floppy hats, a la JLo, but I am terrified I would buy it and never actually wear it. We'll see if I ever get one. The rest of the outfit was all things I am very comfortable in. That being skinny jeans, a button up and a cardigan.
Lastly, I have to tell you all about this Banana Republic toggle coat that I found at the Goodwill. This thing is a find I tell you! It was only $20 and I absolutely love it to death. I will definitely have to feature it later so that all the leather toggles can be seen. I sort of have this thing for coats, and I have more than a few lets just say. I justify it by saying that if you live anywhere cold thats all people see for a few months so you should have more than one! I wonder if there is a "Coats&Boots Anonymous" somewhere that I should join? On second thought maybe it should be "Clothing Anonymous", I am just saying it probably depends on who you ask what my addiction is! :)

Circle Scarf Love

I love the ease of a circle scarf. All you have to do is throw it on and it looks perfectly placed all the time. This season I was looking for one that was under $15 and was knitted. I found this one in a store on Canal Street. It was only $12 so I was sold on it. I paired it with a thrifted Banana Republic cropped sweater and these fab new boots that I picked up from Charlotte Russe (which by the way is having a BOGO for $15 deal on all shoes). Seems that all I wear in the city now is shoes without heels too high so I decided it was a good investment. It was a super comfy outfit for a relaxed weekend full of studying.

Powerful Poncho

I feel like a genius! So I am not very computer literate. I basically just know how to get my email and google things. So needless to say this blog was a bit of a stretch. I have been blogging for about 10 months so far and really haven't taken any initiative to learn how to do things with it, like make my pictures larger or embed a link. That is all now a thing of the past! I used my google skills and with a little trial and error I am mastering some of the basic blogging skills. YAH!!!

On another note this amazingly bright colored poncho was a thrift store find. Who would give this baby up? I mean its such a gem! I decided to pair it with a complementing colored simple sweater, a thrifted pair of jeans, and my fav clogs. These clogs are great they have a heel and yet they are still something I can walk all over the city in. And last but not least, my black bag. What a great find. I picked this leather baby up at the Hell's Kitchen Flea market a while back for just $10. I love the structure of it also the top handle is great for carrying it when the cross body strap isn't needed. The best thing about this outfit is that a poncho is much warmer than it looks. Which is great because I am always freezing. I mean, its like wearing a blanket in public, love it!
