Fly Girl?

So the reason behind the title of this last post is because with the scarf on I sort of reminded myself of Amelia Earhart. All I needed was a pair of goggles and a plane. The high waisted pants are from H & M and I just got them on sale last weekend. I will be able to wear them to work and also wear them casually. The jacket is the pleather one that I got from Forever 21 at Christmas time. The shoes are also from H & M. I got them like maybe 3 years ago. And the yellow T is long sleeved and a bargain buy from one of my personal favs....Target.

Gray Gardens

So I am still loving those black pants that I got from Forever 21. I think that I should get another pair that is slightly different so that I don't wear these out too fast. The sweater is from Express and I got it last year and have basically worn it out too. The shoes are some that I got last year and I just recently found hidden away in a box. I love how shiny they are and the peep toes + the bows are adorable. The striped shirt is a super buy. I found it while out shopping with my mom at Walmart. It was only $4 so how could I resist. Plus I don't really wear a lot of patterns but I am a sucker for stripes. Lastly, the earrings are some that look like fishing lures. I got them at Target last year after I got my ears pierced. They were lost and then found again in a purse I hadn't used in a while. Only thing better than discovering clothes in some box you forgot about is finding money in a pocket. Now only if that could happen too. Then I could buy more clothes....:)

My First Painting

So this is my first painting. I did it last Aug when I was home visiting. My mom and I bought the canvas and my dad built the frame and we all stretched it together. Its fun, you can make the frames any size you want and its way cheaper than buying them especially when you want them this big. I picked a composition that I thought was easy enough to do, since its mostly sky. I need to finish it off by glazing it. Its really fun I wish I had more time for painting. My mom has many paintings that are way better than mine. I will have to put some of them on here eventually.

Thrifted Boots

So here is my first thrift store find. I was super excited to find these Banana Republic riding boots they were originally marked as $22.99, but I was able to get them and a Nordstrom Lizard cowhide belt for an astonishingly low price of.......wait for it wait for it.....$19!!!!! I know, amazing right. So I think I am hooked on thrift hunting now. I also am in love with leggings. They are just so comfortable. Other than the boots everything in my outfit is something that I already owned. The sweater I got 3 years ago from TG Maxx and has cute elbow covers and dark brown buttons that sort of look like wood. The light brown thermal is from Old Navy that I got on sale 2 years ago. I never really liked it but not I am glad I kept it. It is long enough to wear with leggings or skinny jeans and is warm. The earrings I got at New York and Co last year.

Faux Leather Jacket

So I decided that this latest entry needed some dialogue. Well actually the story goes like this. I was trying to add these pictures to the previous post and it wouldn't let me. I think I had too many in all at once...lol. So I had to add them in separately the next day. So this is probably my favorite Christmas gift of all. I love, love this jacket. It is totally fake and was only 32 bucks! I don't feel bad buying something trendy that may be out of style next season when its that cheap. Can't wait until I am back at home to wear more winter stuff. This pashmina is also an old favorite of mine. I bought it on Canal street 3 years ago for like 10 dollars. It goes with so many things and it has the warmest color of orange.

Airport Chic (not always practical)

This is some thing that for some reason I wanted to wear to fly out of Las Vegas in. I thought it would be comfy....thats about it. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not the one who goes for the practical outfits. I don't travel in tennis shoes when I can wear boots. I did however opt not to wear knee high boots so that the people behind me wouldn't be cursing my name as I went through security. And I was glad that I did because the airport was super busy. On a bit of a vaca now so some posts may be a slight departure from the recent winter wear.
