Skirt & Socks

Oh socks, I love socks with sandals now. I wore this little number about a week ago. I got this skirt about a year ago from H & M and I love it. I am beginning to try the look of wearing a belt over a skirt that doesn't have any belt loops at all. So far I am digging it. Also I was glad that for at least one day I was wearing some thing other than jeans or leggings :)

Tights with Shorts (another trend try)

Shorts with tights is a feat that I have never before endeavored upon. I took it upon myself to try to use what I have in Miami, especially since I don't have my barrels which I shipped that have the rest of my summer clothes. It was cooler here that day so it was totally ok to wear shorts and not be freezing. I also only have two pairs of boots here and the rest are sandals. Can't wait for it to warm up here a bit. Overall I like the look. I don't think I would wear it everyday but it is good to mix it up a bit.

Socks with Sandals....(gasp)

I wanted to participate in the whole socks with sandals trend I was seeing these days. I mean after all I live in Miami now and besides its a way to use all the shoes that I have no matter the season. This outfit is something that I wore prior to the move...just FYI. I saw this shirt and this jacket and....in the words of Emeril Lagasse....BAM. I had an idea of what I could put together. I love this shirt because it has all these super interesting folded pleats that almost look like origami all down the front concealing the buttons.

black belt- Simply Vera Wang

Sunrise on a New Chapter

On my way to the airport near my parent's house I took this picture. The desert is beautiful and I am appreciating it more as I no longer live there. This picture is one of those amazing sunrises that happen quite often in the desert. The colors are absolutely stunning....hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Welcome to Miami

Since I live in Miami now I only brought a few things with me here. Its a temporary thing so you know I was determined to pack light. And that is something I DO NOT DO! So I am proud of myself that not only did I pack very light (meaning I am missing some of my clothes very badly) but that I am finding new ways to use some of the summer things I brought like this dress. I just layered so I would be warm enough. It worked out great I wasn't cold a bit.

In the Red

Hello everyone! Being only 5 ft 4 in tall I am always envious of those lucky ladies who have legs that go on for days. The only way I could even fathom getting legs that long is...... to use a little trick, wear tights that are the same color as your shoes! So this is an outfit that I wore before the move to Miami. It was very sunny at the time of the photos so sorry for the shades. I am proud to say that not a single thing in this outfit is a new purchase. So I am still going strong on the new years resolution....so far. I am wearing: red coat from Old Navy, color block bubble hem dress from Forever 21, belt from unknown place, gray tights Vera Wang for Kohls, gray shoes from Target, scarf from airport everything under $10 store.

Plaid Coat

I am in Miami now. So that means I had to leave all my wonderful winter clothes behind..... :( I am so sad about it. I was having so much fun wearing all my boots, coats, and other winter gear. I am going to have to think out of the box to come up with interesting outfits from my again limited wardrobe. Oh who doesn't love a good challenge. The coat is a few years old and is from Walmart. The T shirt and the booties are from Target and are also old. The pants seem to be the staple of this winter break. (Forever 21 skinnies!). I have a few more outfit pics that I saved up to post later. So hopefully you don't get bored!

Leggings Again....seriously?

I know its like leggings again! I can hardly believe it myself. The thing is that they are just sooo easy and comfortable. I just love the way they look with boots too. So I guess I should just admit that I have a problem....I am addicted to leggings! Help! I wonder if there is a clinic somewhere to treat that? I am wearing gray leggings from Forever 21, beige boots from Payless, orange sweater Forever 21, long white tank from under the plaid shirt, black pashmina from I don't remember where.

One Trick Pony

I have been wearing leggings so much lately that I feel like a one trick pony. I need to do some serious branching out! I want to wear some skirts and dresses but I need to dig them out of storage. I am wearing gray leggings from Forever 21, plaid Op shirt from Walmart (the long white tank came with it), gray sports bra, black sweater shrug is an oldie from I don't remember where, and the boots.......oh the boots. Those boots are my babies. They are Michael Kors. I found them online 3 years ago. They were originally about $160 and when I saw that they were half off I was sold. I have defintely gotten my money's worth out of them!

Arg...Pirate Boots!

I have had these boots for at least 3 years. I got them at an end of season sale at Macy's. They are Nine West and I do remember them being half off. I didn't remember them being so Pirate like, but I still love them. The denim leggings are from Forever 21. The shirt is from Walmart and was only $4. The scarf is old and from Target, I love the color of it. Its been one of my favs for a while. The vest is Miley Cyrus/Max Azria for Walmart. Its trendy but not expensive so I don't feel bad about participating in this long vest trend. The necklace is from Target. Overall I didn't love this outfit...but I was in a hurry that morning and just had to throw something together. I think I am just used to wearing heels so when I don't wear them I just look short.

Lipstick Jungle

Not only do I really enjoy clothes. I really like make-up too (I am sure I am not the only girl who does). So every once in a while I will do a post with some new things that I have found and am trying out. I am always looking for like the perfect mascara. I swear I have tried everything. So whenever something new comes out I can't help but test it out. I don't know about you but I get sucked in by those Ad's on TV. My most recent make-up obsession is lipstick. I have had a red one from MAC and would only dare wear it once in a while. Then I decided to try fuchsia and pinks. It sure makes a big difference in pictures. I just found some colors I liked and that were the cheapest I could at Walmart ($2 a tube). I want to try the new nail colors like taupe and navy blue but the polish I liked was too much $$$ for now. So I will wait a bit on that one.

Walk the Dog

I went walking with my dog in the desert today in this outfit. It was freezing cold...but at least I had another hat on to help keep me warm! The shoes are 5 years old from an outlet mall. The boyfriend jeans are from Old Navy. The sweater is also from Old Navy except its about 6 years old. The T underneath is also from Old Navy....LOL as I am writing this I am realizing that almost the whole outfit was courtesy of that place. I do love a good bargain and that place has some good stuff occasionally. The pashmina is from Canal Street and is old. The belt is one that I forgot I had and is reversible black/brown from Walmart. The necklace was a Christmas gift and the hat is from the GAP. The big olive green coat is from H & M.

Mad Hatter

Where I live people don't really wear a lot of hats. So when I walked in wearing this outfit for my nieces birthday party my family just laughed at me!! Its ok I don't mind being different or standing out. And I enjoy the occasional fashion risk. What I think through them over the edge was my hat. It sort of looked liked a cupcake on my head or something. Truth be told I love hats and have a few. So I am hoping to wear a few more while the weather is still cold. The leggings with the zippers are another bargain that only cost $7. They are from the Miley Cyrus/Max Azria collection from Walmart. The scarf is Norma Kamali for Walmart. The boyfriend cardi is a new purchase from H & M. The Tee is a cheapie from Target. The black pea coat is from H & M (3 years ago). And lastly the shoes are my very fashionably mom's. I like to borrow her shoes when I am visiting. And lastly......the hat....I have had it so long that I don't even know where I got it from! But I still love it!
